Red Bull Romaniacs No. 10, the Special Edition

2013 dates now confirmed: July 2nd – 6th, 2013

Sibiu, Romania, October 10th, 2012 – The date for the 2013 Red Bull Romaniacs is now official: the 10th edition of the world`s toughest Hard Enduro Rallye will kick off with a spectacular inner-city prologue on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 and finish with Offroad Day Four on Saturday, July 6th, 2013.

The Red Bull Romaniacs will celebrate their 10th anniversary with new extremes for riders and spectators. As every year, the track will present completely new and untouched trails – this year about 50% of the total distance covered. The other 50% will take the field of riders into ten years of history of the Red Bull Romaniacs and revisit some of the most memorable sections of the past. Most details will remain a secret until just before the event, but it is already known that a revolutionary new prologue is awaiting the riders, that one day will present a “factory raid” and that there will be entertainment and parties every day – on and off the track! For families and friends it will be even easier to enjoy following the progress of their riders with a special spectator package, which includes accommodation, food and guided bus-tours to some of the most interesting spectator points.

The special surprises of the 2013 rallye and the layout of the racetrack are going to set the scene for what will become an epic battle of Extreme Enduro. After having dominated and won the Red Bull Romaniacs for three times, Graham Jarvis is now head to head with Cyril Despres who is also a three-times-winner of the rallye. If Jarvis manages to win the 10th edition, he will be the “All Times King of the Carpathians” and only 4-times winner of the Red Bull Romaniacs. But the other contenders will not come all the way to Romania to become mere spectators for Jarvis` victory: multiple times podium-finishers and 1-times winners Chris Birch and Andreas “Letti” Lettenbichler are extremely motivated to secure their 2nd victory and “young gun” Jonny Walker has already declared that he will win the 2013 race after his impressive debut in 2012. Other legends of Hard Enduro have already confirmed their interest in the Red Bull Romaniacs special edition – stay tuned for the next updates!

Martin “Freijn” Freinademetz: “We are planning to make the 10th edition an unforgettable highlight in terms of fun and challenge for the competitors and there will be an amazing mix of historical elements and new trails. Our main objective however is to repeat – and top – the perfect execution of the 2012 event and provide the safest possible racing conditions. We are again trying to offer a good mix of trails to all Enduro riders, a hard-Enduro rally that offers equal chances for fast and technical riders alike. We are not a 4-days trial event and even though competitors with a trial background are already in slight advantage, we will not change the weighting on this. The riders of each class will be challenged beyond their limits – but will be sent home with broad smiles on their faces, after having lived a “wet Enduro dream”.
