VF4 update

Posted by desflurane on January 18, 2012

So I have fiddled around with the jetting issue and I think it is very nearly sorted out. I had tried adjusting the fuel/air screw before, but it didn’t seem to be making much difference. After letting the bike sit overnight it suddenly made a HUGE difference. I dialed in a nice quick idle and TA-DAA! There it was! Nice crisp throttle response with pretty smoothe roll-on. The needle and main seem to be fine, but I’ll have to get out and really ride to tell for sure.

I had big plans to get out on Monday (MLK day) since I was coming off a weekend of call and was free. I jumped up first thing in the morning and was greeted by a few inches of snow that had fallen overnight, as well as temps in the twenties. Crestfallen, I resolved to wait until the afternoon when it was supposed to warm into the high thirties. But my wife and I started putting all her xmas decorations away in the attic space above our garage and the day sort of vanished! Oh well, the garage looks fantastic…

Tell me where I've gone wrong... (please!)
