Bit ‘O Video

Posted by desflurane on July 30, 2010

Here are a few clips of my rides up Dog Valley road. The log hopping bits are probably the most  interesting, so I’ll go with those:

Here I hop over a medium-sized log a few times without any trouble

This time I try a much bigger log, it doesn’t go quite as well, but I made it…

Tomorrow is the Topaz Lake ride, and I’m really looking forward to it! The ride itself should be epic and it will definitely be fun to ride with some other guys. As they say, the best way to improve your riding is to ride with guys who are better than you. I have no doubt that I will be the slowest schmuck on the trail, but I’m sure that it will be worth it. However, as I have said, I really do feel like my skills are improving considerably – riding almost every day for the past week has done wonders. I feel a lot more confident and capable on loose, rocky ground. Downhills with crumbly, gravelly switchbacks  – which have always scared me to death – are becoming a good bit easier. I’m not barrelling down them at full race speed, but they are definitely becoming a do-able thing. Generally, I think I’m riding a lot faster and a lot more in control than in the past. Definitely more work to do, but I’m coming along.

Tell me where I've gone wrong... (please!)
